Execution

From 2009.igem.org

After brainstorming up ideas on how to brake, accelerate, and steer a cell, we summed up all of the ideas and modified them to try to make them possible. Most of our ideas were similar in that they involved manipulating the same pathways in cells, such as PIP3 modulation and G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs). The iGEM team got divided into two subteams: team HL60 and team Dictyostelium. Team HL60 worked with neutrophil-like cells and worked on screening GPCRs and fusing GPCRs with different fusion proteins with the hopes of finding both a steering wheel and a brake or an accelerator. Team Dictyostelium worked with Dictyostelium and modulated PIP3 with the hopes of finding potential brakes or accelerators.
