For iGEM 2009 we will are opening up an experimental track for individuals or small teams that are interested in participating in iGEM in a limited capacity.  These non-competition teams will have a chance to present a flash 5-minute presentation and present a poster at an exposition section of the iGEM 2009 Jamboree on October 30 - November 2, 2009.  Non-competition teams will not be eligible for the standard prizes from the iGEM judging committee but might be eligible for a single award specific to non-competition teams.

Team Application

Registration for the experimental track will begin in March 2009. Be aware that it is a separate registration than the normal iGEM 2009 team registration! Details on how to apply to be a non-competition team will be provided at 2009.igem.org once they become available.


Fees for Non-competition teams

Non-competition teams will be required to pay a team registration fee and any Jamboree attendance fees.

Team registration fee: $500.00 USD per team
Jamboree attendance fee: $175.00 USD per undergraduate (or high school student); $375.00 USD per graduate student/instructor/other


DNA Distribution

Distribution of DNA to non-competition teams will be determined on a case by case basis. Please contact HQ AT iGEM DOT org once you have been accepted as a non-competition team for more details.
