Silver Nano Particles - Methods

A ---- ml aliquot of the silver binding peptide ( sequence -----) was obtained from.... Two different experiments were setup using the following protocols

Protocol 1:

  • 120 ul peptide (8ug/ul)
  • 14 ul HEPES buffer at pH 7.5
  • 1.4 ul AgNO3 at 20mM
  • 4.6 ul H2O

Protocol 2: A method designed by Fromm and Wennemers [2] was used to form silver nanoparticles by using a chemical reducing agent, sodium ascorbate (NaAsc.)

  • 120 ul peptide (8ug/ul)
  • 14 ul NaAsc. at 2mM
  • 1.4 ul AgNO3 at 20mM
  • 4.6 ul H2O
