George joined Southampton as a SERC Advanced Fellow. In 1990 he took up a joint position as a Scientific Associate at Courtaulds Research, Coventry and a Courtaulds Research Fellow in Southampton. He was appointed to a Lectureship in 1992 and became a Senior Lecturer in 1996. He was promoted to Reader in 1998.

Dr. Ali Tavassoli

Ali joined The University of Southampton as a lecturer in chemical biology in 2006. His research interests involve using the tools of chemistry and biochemistry to uncover compounds that tackle disease through inhibition of protein-protein interactions. He is the recipient of the 2007 Annual Research Award, a Career Establishment Award from Cancer Research UK and the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences medal for European Young Chemists in 2008.

Dr. Eugen Stulz

In 2006, he was appointed lecturer at the School of Chemistry, Southampton. His research interests include supramolecular porphyrin arrays, electronic wires based on DNA nano-particle conjugates, and DNA structure determination in DNA-protein complexes.

Dr. Klaus-Peter Zauner

Klaus-Peter became a lecturer in ECS’ Intelligence, Agents and Multimedia (IAM) group where he researches the use of biomolecules to build computers.
He is now part of the Science and Engineering of Natural Systems (SENSe) group and is looking at biological systems to find out how they use molecules to process information.
