We, team Todai make synthetic biology known to Japanse people who do not quite understand biology.
People in Japan feel repulsion toward GM food, because of their vague understanding of genetic engineering. Todai-Tokyo contribute deepening thier understanding by the following activities. Todai-Tokyo opened a Japanese website that explains the basics of synthetic biology and the answers to the most frequent asked questions about genetic engineering, in an easy-to-understand format. (In addition, we also demonstrate how GM food contribute human society through our "bread making with GM yeast" project.( 貧困対策、やるならかける。）
We successfully enlightened general public for synthetic biology.
