Recipe for 0.8% agarose gel:

1) Add 0.8 g agarose to 50 mL 1X TAE buffer (1 ml 50X stock solution + 49 mL water)

2) Microwave on high for ~30-40 seconds (until agarose dissolved). Stop at 10-second intervals to swirl flask.

3) Cool, then add 2.5 microliters EtBr (wear gloves!). Swirl, and pour into gel tray. Let sit until ready for electrophoresis.
