One of the elements transcribed by T7 RNA polymerase at early stages of T7 cycle in our transformed bacteria is the suicide system which consists of a polycistronic mRNA that codes among other proteins, the rRNAse domain of colicin E3, this toxin cleaves 16s rRNAs in active ribosomes from E.
