I'm a 5th year student in Wendell Lim's lab, and I am interested in using synthetic biology to learn about how chemotaxis works in neutrophils.  I was both excited and petrified to get this unique glimpse of what it might be like to run a lab and teach at this level.  Without a doubt, iGEM has been an incredibly rewarding experience.  I'm a firm believer that enthusiasm for science (particularly biology) comes from doing real benchwork.  Seeing the development of George's students over the last couple years really brings that point home.
