Safety
We might not be science students but we KNOW our lab ethics!!
1. None of the ideas raised saftey issues inside or outside the laboratory.
2. The Bench work was done inside the National Center for Biological Sciences(bangalore) premises and strictly followed the saftey protocols and guidelines set by the saftey review board at NCBS.
3. At National Center for Biological Sciences, Bangalore, we have well equipped lab and we take care of biosafety properly. Current facilities at our lab full-fill the requirements of biosafety level-1 as mentioned in Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (4th edition, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Service, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Institutes of Health, U.S. Government Printing Office Washington: 1999).We have an Institute level committee, who looks in to the issues related to biosafety. Our part BBa_K221000 produces a harmless and eco-friendly organic compound “Geosmin” and since we follow all standard lab practices, biosafety committee does not has any issue with our experiments. We follow following standard lab practices, regularly:
