Project Abstract
We are now proceeding SOME projects simultaneously. Below is the abstract of each plan.
1)Reconstruction of mitochondria (or chloroplast), 2)Re-creation of Firefly-like Synchronization, 3)Genetic Expression Depending on Cell division, 4)The possibility of genetically modified, ADH1 & ALDH2 producing lactobacilli.
Project Description
Reconstruction of mitochondria
- What will happen when "prepared" liposomes are injected into a cell ?What is the difference between cells and endosymbionts ?
For the Re-creation of Firefly-like Synchronization
- Firefly is bioluminescent insect famous for its bioluminescence catalyzing enzyme luciferase. In mating, they synchronize the phase of their luminescence and play a silent symphony. This time, for the re-creation of firefly-like synchronization, we will try to make a new synthetic device which enables optical communication between bacterial cells.
Genetic Expression Depending on Cell division
- In biotechnology, genes in vectors soon express after transformation. We want the genes to express depending on the number of cell division after transformation. Ultimately, we want to make a system that can control freely the generation of genetic expression after transformation.
The possibility of genetically modified, ADH1 & ALDH2 producing lactobacilli
- Can we become a heavy drinker if they join in our resident flora?
