We plan on creating a biological nitrate detector. Nitrate contamination is a growing problem all across the world, especially in countries that depend on agriculture. Such contamination can cause methehemoglobinemia, or blue baby syndrome. Our detector will glow red when placed in water that is contaminated with nitrates.
