Up until now I had simply put an initial amount of aTc into the system and let the system run. This was a fairly good representation of the system all things considered. But there is an alternate way to model this: By having two aTc species. One is outside (I called it aTcO) and then a 45th reaction (aTcO --> aTc) is added to let the aTc molecules outside the cell move into the cell.
I quickly created a new base model, mad_ttn_base2, to make sure the two situations were roughly equivalent. Since it is assumed that aTc moves across the membrane more or less instantaneously, this should be the case.
