India is a land of many lands. This implies great bio- diversity as well as diversity in terms of the amount of rainfall different regions are able to experience through the year. Our project is aimed at bringing the essence of rain to areas which are not fortunate enough to experience the real thing. The main idea for our project revolves around creating a bacteria that can synthesize Geosmin, (the compound responsible for the smell of rain), without the actual presence of rain. This synthesis could possibly be controlled by temperature sensitivity.
