Functional Roles

These roles are related to the core activity of our team, advancing our project. These are mostly based on the UPEDU roles.

Analyst

Designer

Modeller

This is a new role whose activities largely fall under the Analysis and Design discipline. We created this role to accommodate the need for separating analysis and design work from the actual modelling and to emphasize the importance of modelling in the Genetic Engineering Process.

Lab Worker

This could also still be called Implementer like in UPEDU, but the different name is to demonstrate the use of anchors.

Integrator

Tester

Change Control Manager

Configuration Manager

Project Manager

Reviewer

Organizational Roles

These are roles that are not directly related to the project, but are useful to keep our team running smoothly. As UPEDU does not concern itself with this aspect of a project these are all necessarily non-UPEDU roles.

Chair

This role coincides with that of Project Manager (in our case).

Scribe

Those of us who take minutes at meetings (and are very good at it!).

Public Relations Officer

Keeps in touch with other teams and other external contacts.

Treasurer

In charge of all matters financial.

Stakeholder

This role is played by anyone who is (materially) affected by the outcome of the project. This includes:
