Sponsor Award
The foundation was created by Mrs Liliane Schueller Bettencourt and her family, in the memory of her father Eugene Schueller, founder of L’Oréal. It helps to initiate, support and develop projects in the medical, cultural and humanitarian fields.
The foundation is active in the following areas:
• Medical research : The foundation supports the research trough two types of actions : the assistant to the researchers and the support for the education (For example the foundation is a very important actor in the development/functionnement of the AIV program and FdV graduate school).
• Culture : The foundation supports talented artists or craftsmen and attempts to make known or to acknowledge works of great quality, whether from the past or present.
• Social/humanitarian relief : It really important for the Foundation to provide help for associations that are engaged in social and humanitarian actions. Through these, it contributes to relieve particularly difficult situations and to give new opportunities to children and adults in adversity.
La Fondation des Industries Minérales, Minières et Métallurgiques Françaises à l’Ecole des Mines de Paris plus commodément désignée FI3M, Fondation de l’Ecole des Mines de Paris, a été créée en 1946 et est déclarée d’utilité publique par décret du 17/12/1947.
Son rôle : Partager et soutenir, dans le cadre défini par ses statuts, les ambitions de l’Ecole des Mines de Paris. Soit telles que définies dans le plan stratégique 2007-2011 :
* Faire de l’Ecole une référence dans le monde de l’enseignement et de la recherche sur la scène internationale * Faire de l’Ecole un acteur majeur de l’innovation * Améliorer la réponse de l’Ecole à la demande sociétale en particulier en matière de formation continue
...et d'une façon plus générale … « susciter l'essor des mêmes industries, ainsi que des professions qui s'y rattachent, en conformité des intérêts généraux du pays » (Art.1 des Statuts)
Ses engagements La Fondation s’engage depuis toujours à consacrer aux projets l’intégralité des sommes qui leur sont allouées par les donateurs avec des frais de gestion minimaux.
Les programmes en cours
* Soutien social et administratif pour les élèves (prêts d’honneur, caution, trésorerie) * Soutien à l’accueil des étudiants étrangers et à la politique internationale de l’école * Soutien à des travaux de recherche fondamentale * Création de Chaires pluriannuelles de recherche et d’enseignement * Soutien à des projets immobiliers ou liés au patrimoine de l’Ecole
