Hey,
My name is Axel and I’m about to start my third year in biochemical engineering. I heard about the iGEM competition the first time almost a year ago when googleing articles on synthetic biology. Reading more about the iGEM competition made me very excited and now I’m very happy and proud member of the UCL’s first ever and, at least so far, very best iGEM team; the UCL stress busters.
We are a small but very effective team, where we are all contributing and helping each other with probably every large or small part of the project; from research to lab work to web design. It is all interesting but at the same time I have also learned that research, lab work and modelling in synthetic biology makes me very excited and is something I would be happy to devote myself to in the future whereas web design is not.
On my free time I’m playing ice hockey for the London university team the London Dragons.
Before coming to UCL I served as combat swimmer, managed a small forestry business and I went travelling to gain experience and improve my languish skills; focusing on Spanish and German.
I grew up in a small town in the very north of Sweden.
