Release of the Protein of Interest into the Small Intestine
Our polypeptide of interest is to be released into the small intestine where it can be absorbed. Once in the small intestine, the colanic acid capsule will be naturally degraded by enzymes present, thereby releasing the designed biopharmaceutical to the gut micro biota where it can carry out its intended function.
