Pill manufacture is not only concerned with drug release but also by synthesis, purification, packaging, storage, administration and quality control. The E.ncapsulator has been designed to address each of these important manufacturing considerations.
Inducibility
In our system, the synthesis of our protein of interest (Module 1) is induced by the chemical IPTG. By controlling when protein production starts we can ensure that we have the optimum ratio of cells to remaining nutrients.
In a batch culture system, a defined volume of media is innoculated with a small number of cells. In this type of system, low yields can result from poorly timed induction.
