filled distilled water tank
got materials from central services and our glassware, etc. collected
microfuge came from 301 lab
balance came from micro 200 lab
tryptone, nacl, yeast, and agar all from central services
Antibiotics (only amp and kan to start) are from Nano's lab
Prep 4 x 500 ml LB broth to send to central services for autoclaving. (5 g NaCl, 5 g tryptone, 2.5 g yeast extract, 3.75 g agar)
autoclave 250F, 22psi, 30 minutes
prepare 2 x 500 ml worth of petri dishes with ampicilin (from 50 mg/ml stock, to a final concentration of 250 ug/ml, so 2.5 ml per 500ml beaker)
prepare 500ml worth of petri dishes with kanamycin (from 12 mg/ml stock, to a final concentration of 30 ug/ml, so 1.25 ml per 500 ml beaker)
prepare 500 ml worth of petri dishes without antibiotic
collected dry reagents for making the Qiagen buffers, but did not begin mixing solutions.
