Xing Ruoyu(邢若愚)
Core experimental member in Team SJTU-BioX-Shanghai (iGEM 2009).
My name is Xing Ruoyu, or call me by my English name Alex. Undergraduate student at Shanghai JiaoTong University, majoring in Biotechnology. Inspired by the mysterious mechanisms of life and death, I m planning to get further specialized in the field of Biomedical Research in the future=)
At spare time, I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with friends for gigs or underground band live at pubs. Post-rock, folk and britpop are my favorites. Rather than talking things all out aloud, I prefer to express myself by taking pictures or simply daydreaming. I luv gardening so much that my wildest dream is to own a huge garden and take care of the exotic plants from all over the universe.
I m open to new things and suggestions and always take positive attitudes toward life. I do travel a lot, from the east coastline of China to the mountains, deserts and grasslands in the west. I’ve also been to Australia, Europe, Russia, Cambodia. Sometimes I travel with friends or my parents, but mostly I enjoy setting out alone. Get backpacked, make schedules, walk, observe, talk to the locals, make new friends on the rail or at hostels, and experience the diversity of culture…For me, I regard this is one of the most exciting adventures. I admire souls that are free, pure and wild.
