Tasks
Afton and Maria
- Gather information and choose parts for experiments (promoter, backbone, and RET)
- Write running draft
- Transfer information to new lab notebook
Kevin and Adam
- Continue research and further analyze and hone the list of DNA sequences to be synthesized
Craig and Clay
- It was decided to continue work done by the 2008 Eidenburg team by engineering a metabolic pathway for limonene synthesis. Three parts are currently available in the distribution plates (BBa_I742111, BBa_K118024, and BBa_K118025). BBa_I742111 contains a ribosomal binding site attached to the limonene synthase gene (LIMS1) from citrus lemon. BBa_K118024 contains the former as well as ribosomal binding sites and a dxs gene and appY gene. BBa_K118025 contains the ribosomal binding sites and the three aforementioned genes as well as a promoter. We will begin by electrotransforming these parts into the NEB 10 beta strain of E. coli once the electrotransformation cuvettes arrive.
