On the 22nd of September 2009 we ran an outreach event for pupils age 14-15 from a local school. The primary aim of the event is to inform and excite children about science in general as well as introduce them to synthetic biology. By involving them in a cutting edge field they will be better informed should controversy arise in the future.

The event was based around a heavily interactive presentation and also included an opportunity for the pupils to observe modified bacteria as well as other learning points that enable their curriculum.
