March Meetings
Prof Schwille sent a mail informing us about iGEM and asking interested students to make a team. Some interested students responded to Prof Schwille's mail and we met up to discuss the concept of iGEM and what it would take to particiapte in it. Kaj, a former iGEM participant (team Cambridge 2006) gave us a presentation about his iGEM experience. There was some really useful information for us first-timers.
The next meeting we had a better turn out with more motivated students joining us. We also had brain storming sessions during which we discussed a wide variety of topics- from magnetotactic bacteria to bacteria turning dust to gold!!
End of March was the deadline to register the team. We had not decided about fund raising, so we asked for sponsorship from BIOTEC. We also presented our ideas to Prof Brand and some other group leaders. They decide to fund us, and we were registered just before the deadline!! :)
