Introduction
The Tianjin iGEM09 team, alive, energetic and creative, is composed of 10 elite undergraduate students from several different departments.
About Tianjin U
- Tianjin University(Peiyang University), the predecessor of present Tianjan University, was founded on October 2, 1895. It was the first university in the history of modern Chinese education.
- As a key university directly under the State Education Commission, Tianjin University is a center of both teaching and scientific research. Tianjin University upholds the policy of reform and opening to the outside world. The extensive cooperation and exchange carried out at home and abroad with the United States, England, Japan, Germany, Australia and many other countries have improved the teaching and research and at the same promoted the friendship with people of other countries and contributed to the development science and technology.

What we did
- The Tianjin iGEM09 team, alive, energetic and creative, is composed of 10 elite undergraduate students from several different departments. In the past several months, we conducted the folowwing processes:
- CONCEIVE: At the first step, we brainstormed a\two projects that are initiative we believe. We acted in the role of an engineer, defining a problem and identifying the needs of society. For example, finally my team decided to engineer a Microcystins Detection Device.
- DESIGN: Second, we formulated several possible solutions. After intensive assessment, we agreed on constructing a Yeast two-hybrid system, which we believe is the most creative and practicable one. Then a protocol was designed with joined-efforts.
- IMPLEMENT: At the third step, we divided our task into several parts, made a schedule and start out! Our main experimental work is vector-genes construction and co-transformation of yeast cells.
- OPERATE: Last but not the least, there will never be too much emphasize on team work to operate the whole team most efficient and to optimize and improve the final product.
- In the process, we strengthened our communicational skills both oral and written and creative and critical thinking.
